IntelliCity is a social venture firm seeking to integrate sensor technology into ongoing LED streetlight conversion programs to introduce smart city applications on a robust open platform that will aid citizens with security and accessibility in numerous means.

Our first application, Town Crier, seeks to utilize that network to improve public safety by more efficiently delivering information to first responders at the exact time and location of an incident using a voice-activated sensor network. With Town Crier, an incident triggers the sensor array that activates an audio recording and a burst of photographs that are transmitting information and location to first responders. This enables them to respond quickly and with a more complete picture of the incident, not possible without our service. Ultimately we would like to leverage the platform installation for this first project into one that would run other smart city projects, however it is our goal to create a system that is respectful of privacy and able to utilize cutting edge technology in order to foster stronger and safer communities.
